  • 1.  How to complete the same form from 2 users at the same moment

    Hi, I want to be able to have 2 users working on the same form at the same time. I don't want to transfer it to complete it, I want the 2 users to be able to do it when they want. It is that possible? Maybe creating 2 forms inside 1? So, each user manipulate their form but it is all inside 1 big form. Thanks

    Hello Leandro,

    Thanks for raising this question - it's a good one!

    By your note, it sounds to me that your intention would be to land with 1 final submission, even if 2 people contributed to it, is that right?

    If that's the end goal, I'm afraid there's not a way to combine contributions from two users unless:

    (1) you have the ProntoForms Teamwork feature enabled, and the first user does their part, transfers it to the second user, and they do their part - though you mention you don't want to do this;

    (2) they could share a device, and then pass it back and forth, this depends on them being physically in the same location

    Those are the only two ways the platform allows for a single submission, which would include both users' contributions.

    Your idea to split the form into sections certainly works, but it still results in two separate submissions. Let's say the first user is only intended to work on the first page, and the second user on the second page, each on their own device. Although they can both fill out the pages of the form, it would be on their own device, and received as a separate submission from each device. In other words, you'll land with two submissions, each containing data on their respective pages. There's not a way to combine the submissions after the fact.

    I hope that helps light the way so far. In case there's anything else we can help out with, please do reach out!

    Warmly,

    Erika

    ... one more thing to add, and even if the actual mobile device submission can't be combined, there are still ways for you to have both submissions live in the same place - for example, you could be sending them over to a particular folder in your SharePoint.

    There's also the possibility that from within the LIVE web portal, in the Submissions page, clicking into the submission from the first user, you could send a submission back for edit, but then assign it to the second user.

    What happens with the submissions as they flow through to your connected systems, of course, can be combined after the fact. There's a plethora of options on the output side worth exploring, for example data destinations, or working with the API which would be client-side, though our Professional Services team may be able to guide further in a more consultative conversation, that can be booked through success@prontoforms.com.

    Warmly,

    Erika
