For the mobile end user, the entries in a repeat summary table are the only representation for what could be a great deal of data contained within an underlying section. With this in mind, we're very excited to announce the release of our newest feature: DREL in Repeatable Section Summary Tables. This feature allows the Citizen Developer to format, display, and organize the information presented to the Field User in the Repeatable Section.

Here's an example of a Repeatable Section Summary Table using DREL in two columns to consolidate information:

 

Here's why we made this:                 

Previously, the Repeatable Section Summary Table had a 1:1 relationship of question to answer. If a question existed, it could be displayed in the Summary Table, but it would only contain the data shown in that question-and-answer pair. This 1:1 relationship caused problems including but not limited to:

• Too little context about the displayed data
• Too many irrelevant columns in the Repeatable Section Summary Table
• Too little context about the values in the Repeatable Section Summary Table
• Showing important contextual information that was Hidden on Device in the sub-form in the Repeatable Section Summary Table

 

Here's a practical example as outlined by our Product Team:

• Problem: Form builders currently are not able to refer to more than one question in any repeat summary table cell. For example, "I want to display the values of 'First Name' + 'Last Name' in a table cell".
• Solution: Configure column with %a[FirstName] %a[LastName] in the Repeatable Section Summary Table
