Blocking submission using Conditional Logic and a Read only question

  • 1.  Blocking submission using Conditional Logic and a Read only question

There are many times where you want the user to stop and think about the answer they just put in and sometimes, completely block them from submitting the form should that answer be way in left field.

The best and most simple way to accomplish blocking the submission of a form is by using a Read-only and Required text question and a little bit of conditional logic. Underneath the question that you want to evaluate, you will need to add in a new Text question. The Question text will read like an error message (for example "Please review the value of the question above") and then give this question the Read-Only and Required restrictions.

Now using Conditional Logic, make this question visible or not visible based on the answer in a previous question. When the Read-only question is visible, the form will not be able to be submitted at all and will force the person filling in the form to make an adjustment before the final submission. It's that easy!!
